Warm Home Discount
The Warm Home Discount (WHD) is a government scheme whereby all except the smallest energy suppliers are required to give an annual rebate to customers on low incomes to help them heat their homes over winter - for 2021-22 it will be £140.
The payment is made automatically to a core group of customers who
1) are in receipt of the guaranteed element of Pension Credit on 4 July 2021,
2) whose name (or partner's name) appears on the household's electricity bill, and
3) whose energy supplier is part of the scheme.
Payment is also made to a broader group of customers according to criteria based on age, the benefits claimed by the household and family circumstances, but varies from supplier to supplier.
Please note, you must apply for this broader group.
